Huge art drawn on rice fieldsTanbo Art

Event Date July-September

“Rice field art” is a project to create detailed art by using rice plants of different colors as paint, on a huge canvas made of rice fields. The picture is calculated so that it looks beautiful when viewed from diagonally above, not directly above. In July the rice grows and the vivid lush pattern will be in full bloom. After the end of August, the rice plants turn autumn colors, and in the middle of September, the spreading golden scenery is overwhelming. From September to October, we also recommend the slightly faded nostalgic scenery before the harvest. Rice field art, which changes its looks from season to season, is made with a different design every year, so every time you visit, you will always be impressed as if it was the firs time.

The art of carving in the snowfield with footprintsSnow Art

Event Date February

For snow art, England’s Simon Beck, the only snow artist in the world, the volunteer group “Snow Artist Group It’s OK.” inherited his skills and draws artworks in geometric patterns with their footsteps walking in the snowy fields with snow shoes. You can enjoy a different scenery depending on how the light hits and the shadows appear, but it disappears when it snows, making every artwork a once-in-a-lifetime event.
The illumination of the snow art and the candle night with many candles all over the venue are truly a different dimension. You can enjoy the fantastic world that spreads all over.

Among them, “Yayoi Ramen”, kneaded with ancient rice, has a gentle taste, and “Yayoi Udon”, which is said to have been eaten during the Yayoi period, is kneaded with acorns, chestnuts, and potatoes. The scallop soup and edible chrysanthemum toppings make you feel that you have arrived in Tsugaru.
